Graniec! – Polish Mulled Wine
This holiday season prepare one of Poland’s favorite fall & winter season beverages - Grzaniec! The Germans call it “glühwein,” the Scandinavians call it “glögg,” the Poles call it “grzaniec,” or “grzane wino,” and here in the U.S. we know it as, mulled wine! An aromatic blend of red wine, honey and mulling spices such as cinnamon and cloves, it’s the perfect beverage to enjoy during the holidays and throughout the winter season!

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 quart (750ml) of red wine (an inexpensive cab or merlot is best)
- 1/2 cup of Krupiec Buckwheat or Linden Polish Honey from Polana.com
- 5 teaspoons of Dr. Oetker Ginger spice mix from Polana
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3-4 orange slices
RECIPE DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, stir until honey dissolves and wine comes to just under a boil. Then, remove from the heat, strain into your favorite holiday mugs & enjoy! Add an orange slice or two to each mug for added sweetness!
