Homemade Clear Red Beet Barszcz
Beet Barszcz is one of the most traditional Polish soups. This elegant, clear burgundy soup has an earthy beet flavor, which we enhanced with just the right sweet, sour, and wine tones as well as highlights of mushroom flavor. Distinctive, and unforgettable!

Water, Beets, Vegetable Broth, Salt, Pepper
Cooking Instructions
Ideally pull your frozen soup from the freezer about 24 hours before you want to use it. Let the soup thaw in the fridge and then reheat in the microwave or on the stove stopping often to stir.
The most popular way to serve barszcz is to pour the soup over uszka - dumplings or serve in a cup with sauerkraut and mushroom croquettes. It can be also served hot with boiled potatoes and chopped dill for garnish.
Smacznego!
Odd after-flavor
I ordered a bunch of food for a Polish feast for my family. All way great. I was a bit perplex when the borscht had no beet chunks in it though. My son was disappointed but it does not mean we will not order again.
Thanks for shopping with Polana! We’re glad you enjoyed our soup! Please note- the version of the red beet soup that has chunks of beets left inside is a Ukrainian style preparation of the soup. This Ukrainian version is also enjoyed throughout Poland; however, according to strictly Polish tradition the soup is prepared as a clear red broth. As Polana is focused on offering authentic Polish cuisine, this is the version of this soup that we offer.
It is meant to be enjoyed with the uszka dumplings and because it is just a clear broth it is also common to drink it from a mug and enjoy it with a croquette on the side.
Polan's Beet Borscht is fantastic. I just ordered for my family. Marry Christmas.
